Word of the Day: Adjust

Now that my attempts to keep the munchkin asleep all night are finally paying off, it's time for me to adjust to more normal sleeping patterns. I'm an insomniac anyway, so I have always kept late hours (even when I would go to work at 4 AM, I'd be up until 12 or 1 AM.) However, with the baby, I was staying up until 8 AM sometimes, only to sleep off and on during the day. Now it's time for me to start sleeping at night again. I don't know how I'll like it: I've gotten a great nighttime TV show routine mapped out LOL! Once I'm sleeping through the night again, I will have to learn what's good on TV during the daytime :)

Seriously though, I'm spending many waking hours trying to find a way to stay close to my baby once my maternity leave is over. I used to have a daily 4 hour round-trip commute to work. Now that I'm a mommy, I can't imagine wasting 4 hours a day in traffic (instead of spending time with her.) I also can't bear to think about the fact that if she gets sick while I'm working, it'll take me 2 hours to get back to her :( It's time to make some changes ...

Word of the Day: Leave

I am officially on maternity leave. I am far more relaxed, since I've been able to rest whenever I overdo it (and I overdo it a lot.) I still have SO much to do:painting the nursery, organizing and cleaning the baby's clothes, hosting the baby shower, buying more thank you cards, packing my bag for the hospital, completing all of my pre-registration stuff, applying for the leave sharing program at work, and the list goes on and on ... Thank goodness for this handy-dandy list on TheBump.com. When you register and input your due date, they organize to-do lists for you, from the beginning to the end of the pregnancy. I am so thankful for it: it's helping me to stay organized (which, as a pregnant lady, I need desperately LOL!)

I am ready for the baby to get here, but, according to the due date, I have 5 more weeks. Do I believe I'm going to be pregnant for 5 more weeks? No, actually, I don't. I think I'll be delivering this baby within the next 2-3 weeks. I could be wrong, of course-most first time mothers deliver late rather than early. This baby is very active and I think she'll be here early. I'll be keeping you all posted. Look for pictures later today/early tomorrow. I need some photos for Week 35.
