Word of the Day: Bittersweet

Well, I return to work on September 24th. I'm disappointed that I have to go back. The arrangement that I anticipated did not work out at all, but I am determined to make the most of this situation.

My sweet baby makes me so happy, and I'll miss spending my days with her. But, on the brighter side of things, I will able to enjoy regular adult conversation again :)
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
Whatever. That's a crappy consolation prize. I won't be having any more babies until I have the life that I want, that will allow me to stay at home longer than 5 months.

World Breastfeeding Awareness Week: My Breastfeeding Experience

I talked briefly about my breastfeeding experience on this blog. However, I made a YouTube video, giving more details about it. Please check out my video, that I filmed just a few days after World Breastfeeding Awareness Week:

Word of the Day: Sixteen

My munchkin is 16 weeks old today! In just a few days, she will officially be four months old! Here is a list of all the things Munchkin has mastered since being born:

-she has a clear preference for Mommy :)
-she can hold her head up without assistance
-she has different cries for different things: a hungry cry, a sleepy cry, and an "I want attention" cry LOL
-she does A LOT of social smiling
-she automatically knows when she is in prime breastfeeding position
-she doesn't cry after baths anymore
-she had hold gazes easily
-she can wiggle close to Mommy when laying next to me :)
-she can stand up for long periods of time (with Mommy's assistance, of course)
-she can sit up for a period of time without automatically toppling over
-she coos a lot and can make baby noises (talking attempts) for 30 minutes or more
-she has trained us to hold her in certain ways: either seated upright or standing up
-no more constantly balled fists! She's learning to use her hands to explore her surroundings
-she does a lot of drooling-teething is imminent
-no more random sleeping! She now sleeps for 6 hours stretches (even longer, if she gets a diaper change and a feeding while she's sleeping.)

And, since I've been gone for a while, updated pictures are in order ^_^

Look for more updates soon-things have been hectic, but I'm about to transition into working mommy mode next month! Talk to you WAY before then :)

Word of the Day: Bassinet

My little lady is officially 7 weeks old! I can't believe I've had her for almost 2 months. Time is flying! Not only is she getting older, but she's getting longer and heavier. In fact, she's growing so fast that she's about 6 inches away from outgrowing her bassinet! I guess I'll hold on to it, until I know someone who is having a baby that may need it. It was such a cute bassinet, too :( I got it from that awful Walmart, but it was such a good price and easy to assemble. The store no longer carry that model, but it was less than $100 and had both pink and blue accessories so that the bassinet can be customized based on baby's gender.

I was hoping she could use it until she's about 4 months, but I think she'll be out of it before that point. My little baby must be part-weed LOL! She's getting big and changing quickly. Well, here's the latest photo of the munchkin :)

Word of the Day: Adjust

Now that my attempts to keep the munchkin asleep all night are finally paying off, it's time for me to adjust to more normal sleeping patterns. I'm an insomniac anyway, so I have always kept late hours (even when I would go to work at 4 AM, I'd be up until 12 or 1 AM.) However, with the baby, I was staying up until 8 AM sometimes, only to sleep off and on during the day. Now it's time for me to start sleeping at night again. I don't know how I'll like it: I've gotten a great nighttime TV show routine mapped out LOL! Once I'm sleeping through the night again, I will have to learn what's good on TV during the daytime :)

Seriously though, I'm spending many waking hours trying to find a way to stay close to my baby once my maternity leave is over. I used to have a daily 4 hour round-trip commute to work. Now that I'm a mommy, I can't imagine wasting 4 hours a day in traffic (instead of spending time with her.) I also can't bear to think about the fact that if she gets sick while I'm working, it'll take me 2 hours to get back to her :( It's time to make some changes ...

My Trick for Getting the Baby to Sleep All Night ...

The munchkin has been sleeping on a crazy schedule since I brought her home. But now that she's 6 weeks old, I figured I'd try tinkering with her routine, to see if I can get her to sleep all night. I certainly don't have anything to lose: I'm up all kinds of crazy hours, anyway LOL!

As it turns out, my mother told me that she had a trick for getting me to sleep soundly as an infant. I was born in the summer, and it was HOT when I was born. My mother told me what it took to get me to sleepyland: a very cool room, a warm sleeper outfit, and a full belly. I tried the same thing with my munchkin, and it's been working for the past couple of nights! So excited :) I'm hoping that I will be able to get her to sleep beyond 5 hours, though getting her to this point makes me very happy :D

Postpartum Checkup

I went to my obstetrician for my postpartum checkup. She checked my c-section incision and gave me the go-ahead to resume normal activity :) This is the day I've been waiting for! I will be starting my new diet and workout routine on June 1st. I'll be blogging it about it :) I can't wait to get back to my pre-pregnancy, pre-marriage body.

My body goals are as follows:

-overall size 4
-24 inch waist
-weigh less than 130 lbs

Stay tuned for updates!

Word of the Day: Constipation

My poor little munchkin was so constipated over the past day. She was extra fussy and could not sleep more than an hour or two at a time. I perused a few forums, looking for something to give my baby relief. I found my answer here, at BabyCenter. I decided against doing a suppository (the gross factor was just a bit much for me LOL!) I didn't have any dark Karo syrup, but my mother had purchased some baby juice-apple-prune juice- just in case the munchkin needed it. So I did a half juice/half water bottle. I used one ounce of each. After a few hours, the little one filled her diaper, and she slept soundly after that.

I will be giving her juice/water bottles for another couple of days, just to keep her regular, along with cutting back on baby formula and breastfeeding her more. In the meantime, here is another picture of my little pooper-star :)

Word of the Day: Shots

Once upon a time, when I heard the word "shots", I thought of small glasses filled with all kinds of libational goodness. Now, "shots" mean those almost-every-month baby torture sessions. I had a supply of baby Tylenol on hand, just to help the munchkin get through it. Fortunately, she was pretty tough: she squealed for less than 5 minutes, and has been relaxed and comfortable ever since we left the doctor's office. She looked absolutely adorable today:

She's had a hard day. Every nap was well deserved :)

Word of the Day: Breastfeeding

Psst, guess what? I'm doing it, my sister-in-love is doing it, and even Beyonce is doing it. What are we all doing? Breast feeding, of course! It's free, helps promote the bonding process, gives baby the best nutrition, helps your stay busty longer, and helps you lose the baby weight super-fast. So many bonuses to it, why would anyone opt out of breastfeeding?

Well, it isn't exactly a "natural" sensation, especially for first time mothers. It actually hurts when you're figuring it out (and forget all those folks who say that it doesn't hurt once the latch is correct: it hurts until you get used to it.) It means that you have to feed frequently (baby's bodies process breast milk far faster than formula.) You also have to keep up your healthy pregnancy eating habits (along with eating an additional 350-500 calories a day), which can be time consuming for a new mom. You will have a wet shirt or two, until you get baby on a good schedule or until you start buying those breast milk pads for your bra. Oh yeah, only you can produce your breast milk so, unless you pump, you can't hand off the baby for feedings: you will have to do all of the feedings yourself.

I weighed the option and decided to primarily breast feed, while giving the baby no more than 4 ounces of formula per day, to start. Now that she's eating 4 ounces per feeding, I do 8 ounces of formula per day (2 small bottles) and breastfeed for the rest of the day. So far it's been working well. I'm glad that she hasn't had any issues with nipple confusion or problems with digesting formula. I use Enfamil's Newborn formula, but I'll be giving Similac a try, as well. I registered with both the Enfamil and Similac websites. I received lots of formula to try (nice sized cans: no wimpy sample sizes LOL!) I'm making mental notes of how her stools look when using Enfamil (per Similac, their formula creates stools that are far more similar to the bowel movements of breastfed babies, since their formula is supposed to be closer to mother's milk.) I'll then compare her stools to how they look with Similac. I'll be monitoring for general gassiness, vomit, fussiness, etc., to see which formula she favors, then I'll make my final decision.

Like I mentioned earlier, breastfeeding can be uncomfortable. It doesn't help when you have dry, sore, cracked nipples. I tried Medela's nipple cream while I was in the hospital, and it worked well. However, I had a sample sized bottle so I either had to buy more or find an alternative. Also, I still use soap on my breasts (which is generally discouraged while breastfeeding, since it removes your skin's natural protective oils.) Here's a little tip that I have for breastfeeding moms: olive oil, post shower, is great for applying to sore, dry breasts and nipples. It absorbs into skin easily, it's all natural, and it's a food product, so you don't have to worry about it making your baby sick, should you have to breastfeed soon after applying it. Any olive oil works, though heavier versions (extra virgin olive oil, as opposed to extra light olive oil) tend to be a little better for me.

That's my words on breastfeeding. For more breastfeeding information, I go to this site: http://breastfedblog.blogspot.com/ Yeah, you can Google your answers, but I find this blog more informative and fun :) The information on co-sleeping was very useful, as I had a c-section and found that hopping out of the bed every couple of hours to get a hungry infant was just too much. I have been co-sleeping-though slowly weaning her off of it-since the baby came home (she's napping in her bassinet more, now that my incision has healed considerably.)

For the moms who want to supplement breastfeeding with formula feedings, check out the websites for Enfamil and Similac. Those freebies are a big help!

Changes on the Horizon ...

Today was my first Mother's Day-and the day that my husband moved back to his home state. No worries: we're still together. However, he was offered a job back in Louisiana, and the job is far better than what he could find in the DC/MD/VA area, so he took it. He went back today and will start his job this week. The new job means that I will be able to become a stay-at-home mom, which was what I wanted. However, with the majority of my family located within the DMV area, if I went back with him now, I would be so lonely, not to mention overwhelmed: my mother is helping me (BIG TIME) right now. With that being said, I am staying here for a while longer. I'm not sure when we'll be back under the same roof, but I know I don't want to relocate for at least a year. It'll be tough, but we'll be okay.

I can't quite put my feelings into words: if I didn't have the baby, I would miss my husband sorely, but the little one fills me with so much joy that I find it hard to be happy and sad at the same time. So, I choose happiness: I'm enjoying the baby without dwelling on Hubby's relocation. When we first got married, we were apart for 1.5 months before he moved to my hometown. It seemed like eternity. This time, I think we're both mature enough and focused enough to put our emotions aside and put our energy into making a great life for our family. Building our future will take time, and yes, it means that we won't be in the same home for a while. But while we're apart, we still remember what's important: our love and our family. I stay happy by thinking of our love for each other and for our munchkin. So this Mother's Day, I focus on what matters: the loves of my life, my husband and our daughter.

Gassy Giggles?

I love my baby's smile ... Here's a picture of what brings me joy :D

I get so excited when she flashes me a smile, but everyone keeps taking the fun out of it by telling me, "It's just gas." Well, now here's my proof that, while her smiles aren't intentional, they aren't gas related, either! This article at JustTheFacts explains that the smiles aren't related to gas at all.

You learn something new every day :D

Insta-Bonding?

I write this post with a snoozing infant in my arms (actually, just my left arm: the right arm is free for me to type.) Yes, this entire post will be typed using just one hand, via the modified hunt-and-peck method LOL!

I wanted to talk about that magical, natural yet supernatural thing called bonding. Since I only have one hand free, I'll keep this brief. Lots of women feel guilty for not being absolutely enamored with their babies immediately. The women who do have that insta-bond feeling are notorious for being "horrified" at the thought of other mothers who don't bond immediately with their children. These smug women make some mothers feel less-than, simply because their bondng experience is different. I'm here to say, don't beat yourself up. Not every mother feels a super strong bond with their baby immediately. I know that it took several nursing sessions as well as plenty of face-to-face time for me to get that bonded feeling. I went from being my own woman to being a mommy; the 9 months preceding my daughter's birth did little to prep me for the emotional and mental transitions.

Yes, I'll say it. For me, it took TIME. That doesn't mean I didn't love my baby, or that I loved her less than those insta-bond moms. Just means that my bonding journey was different from other moms. All that time together means that my baby already knows my voice and smell: she is immediately calmed when she hears me or I hold her. So I feel that our bonding journey was perfect for us. Honestly, I wouldn't change one thing.

Baby Visions Dancing In My Head ...

Pre-baby, I did a WHOLE lot of daydreaming. She was such a mystery to me, and I couldn't quite wrap my mind around this little person who would look like either me, my husband, some other relative, or some random mixture of features. Based on my and Hubby's features, I imagined that my baby would look something like the little ones pictured below ...

She, of course, has her own unique look, which I love a thousand times more than I could have ever imagined :) The real deal is pictured below:

Pretty cute, don't you agree?

The Birth Story (Also Known As How I Confirmed the Friday the 13th Jinx)

My anniversary was April 8th. Hubby and I celebrated our first full year of marriage. Our little one was due on April 26th, so we figured that we may have just about a week or so before we could go on the official baby watch. So, on Friday, April 13th, we decided to go out and enjoy ourselves. Around 5 PM, Hubby, my mom, and I went to a Chinese buffet. I ate lots of crawfish, stir fried green beans, and a huge plate of fresh fruit. After we ate, we dropped my mom off at her home and went home to get ready for our night out.

I did my makeup, wrapped my hair with a cute headwrap, and got dressed to go out. Hubby wore a nice dress shirt, slacks and slicked his hair back (one of my favorite looks on him :) We went to a local martini lounge, where one of my favorite live bands was scheduled to perform. Unfortunately, the lounge's website is outdated, so there was another band performing this night. The band at the lounge on this particular night was mediocre, so we ended up watching pro basketball and sipping drinks (he had a gin and tonic, I enjoyed a club soda.) Around halftime, we decided to head back to the house and chill out. I went to the bathroom then came back to the bar while I waited to see a couple of basketball clips before we left. I felt like I needed to check myself again, so I went to the bathroom again, where my water promptly broke LOL!

I washed my hands, tied my jacket around my waist, and left the bathroom, then told my husband that my water broke. The video below picks up after we went back to the house to gather just a couple of things before heading to the hospital.

She's Here!

The baby was born on April 15th. I "enjoyed" 24 hours of labor before I ended up needing a c-section. Here are a few exclusive pictures of the munchkin :) By the way, the birth story will be up very soon.

Hope you enjoy the pics of the little one! More posts coming soon :)

Word of the Day: Bras

While waiting for my little bundle o'joy, I have been slowly acquiring little things that I need to help make a comfortable transition to motherhood. Along with baby books, convenient gadgets, and countless paint for the nursery, I found that I had to indulge in something I never would have given a second thought: new bras. I knew that my breasts would probably grow, but I still didn't make the mental connection: I had to buy more bras, because I could not wear my old ones any longer. I went up both a cup and a band size (Hubby is ecstatic; I'm only mildly enthused.) So I bought two regular bras (in a larger size) and two nursing bras. Along with the two regular bras, I've been wearing a few stretchy sports bras, because those are flexibly sized and still fit comfortably.

I will get some more bras once the little one gets here. For now though, I'm still reeling over the fact that I had to buy the 4 new bras. Bras are expensive! Thank goodness for all the gift cards I've gotten: those helped keep me from having to spend cash for my new gear.

Word of the Day: Dilation

I've been at 1 cm for the past week. So, it's now official: the baby has gotten too comfy. I figure that once the door is cracked, baby should be trying to bust her way out of here. Unfortunately, she didn't get that memo.

My poor sister-in-law made it to 41 weeks before her little bundle decided to exit. In fact, she's in labor now. My new nephew will be here in a few hours (hopefully!) While I would love to be absorbed in what's happening in my uterus, my mind continues to go to her and what she's going through. Praying for her & the little one's safety :)

A Letter to My Unborn Child

Dear  Munchkin,

Though I talk to you every day, I figured I'd write you a letter. I know you're not due until April 26th, but I just figured I'd let you know that I am ready for your arrival. You don't have to stay in there any longer. I don't know if you heard the doctor a couple of days ago, but she said that you are full term, so that means you can come on out! Don't stay in too long: you don't really want to be a May baby. Remember, we agreed that diamond is a great birthstone to have. Quite a few awesome people are born in April-early April, that is. I know your Aunty Jess is born on April 26th, but let her have her day to herself, ok? No need for you two to share a birthday. See if you can make your debut before your aunty turns 25 again LOL

Come on out: the weather has been pretty warm, and I have a bunch of adorable clothes for you to wear, a pretty bassinet for you to sleep in, and a nice baby tub so we can practice your beauty rituals :) I've got some great organic baby products for you, not to mention the fact that I'm using up all my perfumed stuff so that I can get on the unscented bandwagon once you arrive. Oh yeah, I found some great hypoallergenic detergent to wash your clothes in-all you have to do is arrive, so we can get you in your freshly washed clothes.

I've completed my birth plan along with reviewing it with my obstetrician, made photocopies of my preregistration forms, I even made copies of my license and insurance card, just so that I can keep all that stuff together. I lined up your pediatrician, and I'm making the call to my insurance tomorrow so that we will be ready for you as soon as you get here. I've been stretching, learning breathing exercises, and eating super-healthy, just so that I'll be in top condition when you decide to come on out.

I'm getting used to drinking lots of water, so whenever you want to nurse, I'll be ready. I got some Enfamil and glass bottles (easier to sterilize) so even if you get a little hungry inbetween feeding sessions, there will always be something for you to eat. I know you're awfully cramped in there: that would be why you constantly toss and turn, trying to find a comfortable spot. Your bassinet has lots of space for you to stretch your legs. Your crib will have a lot of space, too. As you can see, we got food, comfortable living conditions, and scenery: what more could you want?

I don't mind the stretch marks, achy back, constant eating, and lack of sleep: I figure these are all a part of the journey. But since all the major damage is done, I'm thinking that you don't need to stay in any more. You can join us on the outside now.

Love you always,

Your slightly impatient mother

Almost 37 weeks ...

To say that I'm ready to have this baby would be an understatement. Here's how I'm looking (this was taken two days ago, when I was 36 weeks and 4 days):

The faint smirk on my face was just for my husband's amusement LOL! We were at Babies R Us, trying to pick up some little odds and ends before the little one gets here. Now, we wait ...

But don't worry-I'll still be doing posts, because I have lots to talk about, as I think of all of the last-minute details I've handled in the past couple of weeks :)

Word of the Day: Striae

Striae is the fancy medical term for stretch marks. For a long time during the pregnancy, I had no stretch marks. However, in the past 6 weeks, I have quite a few marks across my stomach. I can't lie: I was so sad when I saw how much my skin had changed. I moisturized regularly, but still fell victim to these ugly marks across my abdomen. I try to keep it all in the proper perspective: my body is changing. My body is creating and nourishing a life: if I have a few scars, it's worthwhile. You can't change without a few growing pains and a some battle scars.

Word of the Day: Pediatrician

So cute! (Corbis Images)

I selected a pediatrician today :) At the advisement of several of my good friends, I decided to use a pediatric center: I can use any doctor there, though I prefer to use one doctor in particular. The good thing about this center is that they have several locations in town, so if I decide to move, I can still be close to a center. All I have to do is fill out my little one's paperwork and have it ready for the doctors when I do her first well-care appointment.

Speaking of paperwork, I have to update my insurance as soon as the little one is born. I have to put that on my "in hospital" to do list. I think my in-hospital recovery time will be one of the last times I'll be able to take care of any business :/ So much to do before she gets here ...

Monday, March 26, 2012

Word of the Day: Popsicles

I asked my OB if I could bring popsicles with me to the hospital. She said yes :) It beats the heck out of ice chips!

Friday, March 23, 2012

Word of the Day: Leave

I am officially on maternity leave. I am far more relaxed, since I've been able to rest whenever I overdo it (and I overdo it a lot.) I still have SO much to do:painting the nursery, organizing and cleaning the baby's clothes, hosting the baby shower, buying more thank you cards, packing my bag for the hospital, completing all of my pre-registration stuff, applying for the leave sharing program at work, and the list goes on and on ... Thank goodness for this handy-dandy list on TheBump.com. When you register and input your due date, they organize to-do lists for you, from the beginning to the end of the pregnancy. I am so thankful for it: it's helping me to stay organized (which, as a pregnant lady, I need desperately LOL!)

I am ready for the baby to get here, but, according to the due date, I have 5 more weeks. Do I believe I'm going to be pregnant for 5 more weeks? No, actually, I don't. I think I'll be delivering this baby within the next 2-3 weeks. I could be wrong, of course-most first time mothers deliver late rather than early. This baby is very active and I think she'll be here early. I'll be keeping you all posted. Look for pictures later today/early tomorrow. I need some photos for Week 35.

Monday, March 19, 2012

Word of the Day: Swelling

Today, my feet are more swollen than they have been during the entire pregnancy. My shoes are all too tight and it actually hurts to walk. Thank goodness for flip flops: hurtin' feet are for the birds!

Friday, March 16, 2012

Word of the Day: Contractions

I've been having mini-contractions all day today. I've had several since I've been pregnant, but today I had more than normal. I really feel that my little one wiill be here before her due date, but hopefully not too soon.

If you aren't familiar with some of the ins and outs of pregnancy, then you may not know that most pregnant women get "practice" contractions, better known as Braxton Hicks contractions. These contractions prepare your body for childbirth. These get more intense as your due date approaches. I'll be keeping an eye on it-one of these days, the contractions may be true labor, instead of just practice.

My Latest Video: All About Carbuncles (AKA Boils)

My video, all about my experience with boils, MRSA, and antibiotics to treat it. It's important to at least keep an eye on ANYTHING that happens with your body while you're pregnant. Little things (even something as small as a boil) could be a serious condition that needs treatment before your little one gets here.

Word of the Day: Headache

My headaches have become more frequent as I get closer to my due date. It isn't the worst that could happen-I previously had a kidney infection a few months ago, and that was an ordeal.

Other than Braxton-Hicks contractions, round ligament pain, clumsiness, forgetfulness, and now headaches, everything else is going well LOL!

Word of the Day: Tour

I was supposed to take my hospital tour today. However, I was too tired to get out of bed today. So, I missed it. Oh well-at least I got some rest ^_^ I'm definitely much more appreciative of the little things (like rest) so I'll just reschedule the tour. Pretty uneventful day otherwise.

All Star weekend-just finished watching the 3 point contest and slam dunk competition. It isn't as magical as it used to be, when I was a kid. Can't wait until some really talented dunkers come along and revive the competition.

Friday, February 24, 2012

Word of the Day: Weekend

To say that I'm glad the weekend is here would be a gross understatement. I need to rest up-my body is feeling completely drained.

Today marks the beginning of week 31. I have only 2 months until the munchkin gets here :) So exciting! My tummy is huge and has some stretch marks on it. Guess I'll never be a swimsuit model now . . .

My hair is getting super-thick by the day. I hope I can keep this density. I love having thicker hair.

I still need more maternity clothes-my grandmother agreed to buy me a couple of things! Yay! It'll be nice to have pants that fit properly again.

Wednesday, February 22, 2012

Word of the Day: Exhaustion

So, so, so tired today. I felt like I was ran over by an 18-wheeler. I would put a picture up, showing you the face of exhaustion, but I don't want to scare anyone away LOL!

I have another topic that I want to write about, and I'll be posting that in a few days. Today, however, is all about getting some rest. This baby is taking it (whatever "it" is) out of me.

Monday, February 20, 2012

Word of the Day: Pants

I'm in desperate need of some more pants. I'm finally growing out of my jeans. I wouldn't care about my spreading belly, if it weren't for the fact that the zippers on my pants pinch my skin. Time to get some comfy pants . . .

Friday, February 17, 2012

Word of the Day: Thirty

Thirty, as in, 30 weeks down, 10 more to go :) I'm so eager for the little one to get here. Hurry up, April 26th :)

Sunday, February 12, 2012

Word of the Day: Whitney

Beautiful, stylish, talented. A voice that was otherworldy. Maybe now she will finally be remembered for what matters: her amazing contribution to music.

Word of the Day: Pasteles

My coworker is from Puerto Rico, and is the father of 4 children, so, obviously, he knows about pregnant women and their cravings. So, his mom made some pasteles, and he brought me a few to try. So good! I ended up buying a dozen from her.

I'm including a recipe for it. I won't be making it any time soon (it takes WAY too much time) but at least I have some frozen ones that I can enjoy whenever I like. The recipe is vegetarian, but the version I've eaten has chicken in it.

Click the picture for the recipe :)

Once you remove the banana leaves, this is how it looks.

Easy way for me to keep up on this blog

I'll be doing a "word of the day." Whatever word captures my day as a soon-to-be mommy will be shown on this blog. It's easy, and keeps everybody up to date with what's the most important thing happening for the day :)

Baby Details-All About the Bump

It's only fitting that I tell you all about the bump, since it's my motivation for this blog :) I'm 27 weeks pregnant as of today. I am having a little girl, and this is my first baby. It's such an adventure-I wish I had started blogging sooner. Oh well.

This is such a most memorable time: seeing my bump get bigger and less than 90 days until my due date. Lots of cool, fun stuff to come on this blog. Stay tuned!

Preggo Outfit of the Day

Here's a simple, cute outfit that I rocked at work this week. I love basic colors with some flair. Deets below each picture :)

Looking tired at the end of the day LOL! This red coat is by Jaclyn Smith for KMart, top is by Pink Rose (got it at Macy's.) My beanie came from the beauty supply store.

This skirt is from George (Walmart brand.) The boots are Merona (from Target.)

Here's a better look at my top. I like short sleeves-it keeps me cool, since my basal temperature is always raised. But I don't like my neck getting cold, hence, the turtleneck.

The pin is from Walmart. It was one of those $5 pins that they sell around Christmas time. It has a few fake marcasites in the center.
